What Is a YouTube CPM Calculator?

CPM stands for Cost Per Mille which means “cost per 1,000 ad impressions”. On YouTube, CPM is how much advertisers pay for 1,000 monetized views. A YouTube CPM calculator helps you estimate your earnings using a simple formula so you can plan your content, goals and income.

How to Calculate YouTube Earnings From CPM

The basic formula is:

Earnings = (Views ÷ 1,000) × CPM

If your CPM is 3.50 and you get 100,000 monetized views:

Earnings = (100,000 ÷ 1,000) × 3.50 = 100 × 3.50 = 350 So you would earn about 350 in your currency before any other adjustments.

CPM vs RPM – What’s the Difference?

CPM is what advertisers pay. RPM is what you actually earn per 1,000 views after YouTube takes its share (around 45%). That means RPM is often around 50–60% of your CPM. This tool shows both CPM and a rough RPM estimate so you can understand realistic earnings.

FAQ: YouTube CPM Calculator

Is this calculator 100% accurate?
No calculator can be perfect because CPM changes by country, season, niche, advertiser demand and how many of your views are monetized. This tool gives a good estimate for planning.
Where do I get my real CPM?
Inside YouTube Studio, go to Analytics → Revenue. You’ll see RPM and playback-based CPM. Use those numbers here for more accurate results.
Why is my RPM lower than my CPM?
Because YouTube keeps a share of the ad revenue (around 45%) and not every view shows an ad. RPM shows what you actually earn per 1,000 views after this share.
Does this include sponsorships or affiliate income?
No. This calculator is for YouTube ad revenue only. Sponsorships, affiliate links and brand deals are extra.
